LJCC Uxbridge Qualifier Sun 26.10

LJCC is one of the country's most prestigious junior chess events.

SECTIONS

 

Age limit sections

Under 8 /Under 10/Under 12 Sections   

Players must be under the section age on 31.8.2025

 

ECF Rapid play Grades will be used.

 

ENTRY FEES


All sections         £30 to be paid in advance ECF silver member or higher, Uxbridge Junior Chess Club Members will receive a £10 discount from entry fee.

REFRESHMENTS

 

Hot and cold refreshments will be on sale at reasonable prices: hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, crisps, fruit etc.


TOURNAMENT DETAILS


Each player will be allowed 25 minutes no increment.

Help will be given to those not used to clocks.

This is not a knock­out tournament.

Swiss pairings will be used.

All competitors play in every round.

All sections will be played to ECF Rapid play rules using chess clocks.

 

 

The ECF publishes the Grading list on their website. If you wish to have your Grading details (Grading Reference Number, Name, Club(s), Grade(s), Grading Category) withheld from the website version please contact the ECF, www.englishchess.org.uk.

 

 

 

Parents and friends are welcome to stay, but should note that only stewards and players will be allowed in the playing areas. We do not provide any supervision of children between rounds so you must stay to look after your own children or arrange for another adult to be responsible for your children.

Finals 


The London Junior Chess Championships

first event was held back in 1924.

 

The Finals will be held at various locations of the University of Westminster. 

The U12, U16, U18/21 event is to be held on 29 & 30 December,

the U10 U14 on 21 & 22 December,

and the U8 on 28 & 30 December

 

There are various other events up to and including an U21 To qualify for the finals of the LJCC, players need to obtain a qualifying score.

 

U8: a score of 4/6 or more will qualify for the final.

U10/U12: a score of 4½/6 will qualify for the Major

and a score of 3½/6 will qualify for the Minor.

 


Qualification by rating

Pre-qualification for Major Events in the following sections is based on published ECF Rating

Under 8 Rating 1200 or higher

Under 10 Rating 1550 or higher

Under 12 Rating 1750 or higher
